Creeper shoes are an important part
of rockabilly clothes. They
come in every color in the rainbow spectrum, but the classic black and
white combinations are still the most popular choice. Rockabilly clothes are often likened to those of other
well-known sub-cultures and often confused for the likes of Greasers, Teds
(Teddy Boys), and Rockers, all of which hail originally from the same era. The distinct rockabilly clothes
give these music lovers a unique style and a visible presence in the rock
community. The music and the
clothes work together to create a persona that cannot be ignored.
Those in rockabilly clothes, listening to the music, are themselves
referred to as Rockabillies or simply Billies. Even some of the more contemporary
well-known musical acts can be linked to the rockabilly fashion style.
The Stray Cats, a huge band in the 80s, were very closely linked
with rockabilly because they played the musical style and wore the
rockabilly clothes. |
