Thus
far::
-
We've
done the cut.
Basically,
there's only one haircut back then, but there
are many different variations.
-
We've
decided on part - section the hair from the
crown to just in front of the ears. You
can see from the pictures belowthe different
parts (and if they are parted, they all start
from the crown and go back to just in front of
the ears).
-
We've
done the curling
up all hair into rolls from sides,
front, and back, pin up. It's possible
you may want to use pincurls in the back
instead of rolls.
-
Note:
If making a big roll in front (like in the
picture on the logo above left) the front
roll should be left open in a roll, then
sprayed. Rat inside the roll to keep
it full, or use a hair rat (cigar-shaped).
Rats should be your hair color, and cut to
fit.
-
Now
we'll style the front.
There are
tons of variations on this main theme. The
rules seem pretty rigid, and they are (they all
have the same basic haircut,
if the hair is parted it's always from the crown
to just in back of the ears), and then the hair is
curled,
either with rolls or pincurls. There are
dozens of variations on this theme, though, and
many of them are shown on this page. You can
find other variations on the web, too, but they'll
all follow these rules and be created this way.
All
the pictures here are of Ingrid Bergman,
doing all sorts of the different styles of the
period. Note that they all have the same
basic haircut
and curls,
just with variations of longer, shorter, up, down,
parted, not parted, small curls, or big curls.
Check
out all these variations!
